Our Story
At Weekend Blockbusters we dream of creating movies which are superior in terms of content and quality.
We believe that process of movie making right from pre-production up to the release should be one that has to be executed and enjoyed as a symphony.
With these as our fundamental quality, Weekend Blockbusters stepped into movie production in 2014 co-producing our first movie “Bangalore Days” with Anwar Rasheed Entertainment, the movie broke all box office records of the year and also created a new precedent in Malayalam cinema.
Our second movie “Kaadu Pookkuna Neram” released in 2017 has won the praises off all and has been selected to various prestigious movie festivals all round the world and also won some of the best awards in the country. Our third movie “Munthirivallikkal Thalirikkumbol” released in 2017 has now become one of the biggest box office hits of the year.
With the huge amount of support that our viewers have bestowed upon us up until now, we take it as our responsibility to come up with more quality content. Our team of experts is constantly on the look-out for quality products and we hope that anything that comes from us will be able to keep up the promise we have delivered until now.

Weekend Blockbusters was the culmination of our passion to tell stories about the times we live, the imaginations of our lands that seamlessly transcends borders and the dreams and despair of our unconventional heroes.
Malayalam movie industry has come of age and we are in exciting times. A new breed of writers, directors and producers are heralding this new wave of movies that is nuanced and catering to a pan Indian audience.
